Tool mechanic or process mechanic for plastics and rubber technology are not typical female occupations. To help overcome stereotypes and to gain an insight into these occupations, six schoolgirls visited Dallmer on this year's Girl's Day.

Dallmer's current trainees took the schoolgirls for a tour of all departments and practical exercises ensured there was plenty of variety in between lectures. The girls were introduced to numerous occupational fields, from tool making, through to production and the logistics centre. A highlight for the participants of this occupation taster course was the hands-on opportunity to independently assemble some products and weigh some smaller components in the ME warehouse.

On this year's national Girls' Day some 100,000 girls explored skilled occupations in trade, natural sciences, technology and IT.
